Bloom's Digital Taxonomy

The digital version of Bloom's Taxonomy was very helpful because it incorporates technology words.  It also has the reformatted scale with creating above evaluation (5 and 6 changed).  The emphasis is on the increasing levels of thinking skills - from LOTS to HOTS.  For the newly added technological terms, it had texting (LOTS) to collaborating (HOTS).  For example, application had "uploading", "editing", and some others.  These words are a practical addition that students can understand.  These terms allow students and teachers to evaluate the OTS for a digital assignment, encouraging the use of technology.  I would make sure that each student has a copy of Bloom's digital.  When the students have a copy of Blooms, it encourages them to use it.  They can use it when doing assignments and studying for tests.

In this week's classes, I've felt like I'm drinking water from a firehose.  That continues to be my biggest concern.  The web resources are really good, especially the ones that encourage interaction.  For example, the screencast o matic allows me to make a short instructional video.  I made a short video explaining the difference between chemical changes and physical changes in the subject of Chemistry.  Another great resource was the google tools.  The multitude of tools there can be useful in some activities that require collaboration.  Some data collections tables could be done on google docs.  Students can instantly access the entire class data and enter theirs.  I'm still trying to see if I can post documents on this site.  It doesn't seem possible.

15 June

I expect this class to help introduce me to methods of incorporating technology into the classes.  I have minimal experience in building websites.   I would like to have an online resource for the students.  I I have some experience using the smartboard and I want to incorporate it further into my classes.  I want to use technology that the students are familiar with and use.  This will make my resources more practical and easy for the students to use.
I am concerned that the course will move very quickly and I will become lost.
